Vivac a dos mil metros y elección de hornillo

Montar el campamento en este collado con vistas al macizo ha merecido cada gramo cargado en la mochila. Con viento lateral y temperaturas rondando los cuatro grados, el hornillo de gas de montaje directo con paraviento rinde sin problemas. Para travesías de tres días por encima de los dos mil metros, el equipo ultraligero marca la diferencia entre disfrutar o sufrir.

that view is unreal tbh nothing beats boiling water after a grueling ridgeline scramble smh what canister mix are u running up there at 4C? straight butane always sputtered out on me so i had to switch to an isobutane propane blend

A seventy-thirty isobutane propane mix is definitely the way to go at altitude. In sub-freezing morning wind, I also keep the fuel canister in my sleeping bag footbox overnight so it doesn't suffer severe pressure drop during that first morning boil.
