Why WebAssembly is the future of web game engines

WebAssembly has completely revolutionized in-browser rendering and physics simulations. By compiling C++ or Rust engines directly to Wasm, we bypass JavaScript runtime overhead and garbage collection pauses. Combined with WebGL or WebGPU, we can now build full-scale desktop-quality games that load instantly in any browser. It is a massive game-changer for web-based gaming.

WebGPU is definitely the key here. The ability to run compute shaders directly in-browser unlocks desktop-level simulation performance. When coupled with Wasm's multi-threading capabilities, we can execute highly parallel physics calculations at near-native speed.
