preview environments are the best onboarding doc we ever had

we started spinning a preview deployment for every pull request last quarter, and the change in review quality surprised me. designers click links instead of pulling branches, qa catches routing bugs before merge, and new hires see real environments on day one. the wrangler config took an afternoon to wire into our ci pipeline. honestly cheaper than the hours we used to burn reproducing bug reports.

this. we do the same with opennext on workers and the preview urls even share the kv namespace bindings per branch, so feature flags behave. one gotcha tho: cache invalidation between previews can bite u if u share a single r2 bucket, ended up isolating buckets per env after a we...

the r2 scoping pain is so real. we learned it the hard way when a preview wrote into prod objects. now every branch gets its own bucket prefix in ci, costs nothing and saves the 2am incidents

From the product side this matches our experience exactly. Preview links turned stakeholder feedback from a meeting agenda item into an async comment, and our cycle time dropped almost a day per sprint. The wrangler setup cost was real but it paid back within one release cycle.

Desde la investigación de usuarios lo notamos igual: cuando diseño y producto pueden abrir el enlace de una vista real, el feedback llega en horas y no en semanas. Los entornos de preview eliminan esa capa de abstracción que hace tanto daño en las fases de validación.
